Big Peat's Grunneger Edition is a tribute to the province of Groningen, crafted by independent bottler Douglas Laing. This Islay blended malt marries Big Peat's characteristic smoky identity with a sophisticated Madeira finish, resulting in a complex and distinctive whisky bottled at a robust 60.8% ABV. The nose reveals a pleasant balance of sweet smoke, forest fruit, and briny maritime notes. On the palate, honey-smoked meat and spices take centre stage, complemented by vanilla and toffee undertones. The finish is intense and flavourful, with peppery spice, salt, and a lingering smoky character that defines its Islay heritage.
