Laphroaig Elements 3.0 is an experimental Islay single malt born from an unexpected factory accident. This limited-edition release explores the influence of extreme heat on the malt-drying process, resulting in a markedly more intense and smoky profile than the distillery's traditional offerings. At 55.3% ABV, it delivers a bold character with chocolatey depth and rich smoke that defines the Elements series' adventurous spirit. The nose reveals charcoal, chocolate, and cinnamon spice mingling with smouldering peat smoke, complemented by lemon zest, butterscotch, and salt. On the palate, the whisky explodes with intense peat and roasted cocoa beans, dark chocolate, and dark fruits with charred undertones. Ginger, black pepper, and cloves bring pronounced bitter notes, while blackberry, plum, and gooseberry add complexity to this fiery, uncompromising dram.
