About
Lagavulin 19 Years Old is a full-bodied, complex Islay single malt that presents the distillery's signature peat smoke with remarkable elegance and refinement. After 19 years of maturation in American and European oak casks, this whisky achieves a striking balance: the intense peat has mellowed beautifully, yet retains its distinctive character. The result is a rich, oily dram with considerable depth and warming presence. The nose reveals layered aromas of smoked oak, almond extract, and ocean air, with hints of citrus and dried fruits. On the palate, dark berries and black currants dominate, complemented by toffee and medicinal peat that reads almost toasty rather than harsh. The finish is long and warming, with lingering smoke gradually giving way to sweet molasses and licorice notes.
