About

Glen Spey is a distinguished Speyside distillery celebrated for its refined, fruit-forward character. This 2008 vintage from The Single Cask Ltd is a cask strength release that captures the full expression of the distillery in its maturity. After 17 years of maturation in refill bourbon, this whisky has developed impressive complexity and depth. The nose reveals ripe orchard fruits – apples, limes, and pineapple – complemented by warm caramel and nutty undertones. The palate opens with fruity notes including berry preserve and sour cherries, followed by burnt caramel and a surprising peat character with hints of fireplace ash and briny minerality. Bitter chocolate emerges alongside the fruit, creating a multi-layered experience. The finish remains elegant, with malty sweetness lingering alongside subtle peaty and vinegary notes that extend into a long, contemplative conclusion.
