About

Mannochmore, established in 1971 in Speyside near Elgin, is a relatively young distillery known for refined single malts. This 2008 UWC expression represents a classic ex-bourbon matured whisky, aged for 16 years to develop complexity and balance. The nose presents a quintessential bourbon-cask character with malt candies, yellow stone fruits like apricots and mirabelle plums, and ripe apples. On the palate, peppery spice and clove notes lead into grapefruit sharpness and melon sweetness, with hints of charred oak adding weight and richness. The finish is lean and lemony, with lingering pepper and barley notes that maintain the whisky's elegant, composed character.
