About
Tobermory's 2009 vW is a youthful yet complex island single malt that punches above its age with impressive depth and character. Distilled at Tobermory on the Hebridean Isle of Mull, this non-chill-filtered expression captures the maritime essence of Scotland's western islands. The elevated 61.2% ABV delivers an intense, assertive spirit with remarkable balance. The nose greets you with vibrant green apple and yellow stone fruits, layered with creamy vanilla and a subtle floral sweetness. On the palate, toffee and honey emerge alongside intriguing herbal and grassy notes, with a gentle spice that builds toward a peppery finish. The high alcohol provides excellent integration, carrying the flavours through to a long, dry finish with persistent fruit, a whisper of coastal salt, and mineralic complexity. This dram pairs beautifully with smoked meats and aged cheeses, or savour it neat with a few drops of water to unlock its full potential.
