About
Ben Nevis is a quality Highland single malt distilled at the foot of Scotland's highest mountain. This 2013 vintage, bottled by van Wees at cask strength, showcases the distillery's characteristic freshness and fruitiness. Despite the considerable alcohol strength of 60.5%, this whisky is remarkably well-integrated, offering a consistent and approachable dram that belies its youth. The nose reveals ripe citrus fruits—particularly lemon and lime—complemented by vanilla and subtle sweet notes. On the palate, peppery spice characters emerge alongside hints of tobacco, while mature oak makes its presence felt. The finish is dry and intense, with lingering pepper, salty notes, and an oaky tannin structure that persists long after swallowing.
