About
Ben Nevis 1966 is an exceptional Highland vintage, distilled over five decades ago in Scotland's most northerly distillery. This rare vatting of six hogsheads represents the heritage of Ben Nevis, a historic malt producer in the Highlands that has been Japanese-owned since 1989. At nearly 50 years old, this whisky showcases the complexity and refinement that comes with extended maturation. The nose reveals rich, dry oak with prominent spice and herbal tea notes, complemented by hints of mint and a subtle resinous character. On the palate, an oily texture carries flavours of black pepper, cloves, and nutmeg, alongside dried fruits including peach and plum. The finish is elegant and restrained, with red fruit, chocolate, and lingering pepper. Despite its advanced age, this whisky remains remarkably balanced and dignified, displaying the grace of a truly vintage spirit.
