Millstone 2016 DMor is a rare Dutch single malt whisky from Zuidam Distillers, matured in a first fill Pedro Ximenez sherry butt. This independent bottling represents a limited release of just 90 bottles in the Netherlands. The whisky's fruity and complex character is shaped by the distillery's traditional slow distillation in small copper stills, creating a distinctive profile. The nose is dominated by pronounced caramel and toffee notes, complemented by warm spices including cinnamon and allspice, alongside sultanas, cherries, and subtle pencil shavings. The palate is thick and juicy with a serious bite, delivering raisins, prunes, and dates alongside orange liqueur, cloves, and rum-soaked fruit. The finish is sweet and lingering, with persistent oak and fruit character that rewards contemplation. Best enjoyed as a digestif or paired with chocolate-based desserts to complement its rich sherry influence.
