This Highland Park from 2006 is a refined single malt from Orkney, matured in a refill sherry butt. After 16 years of aging, this whisky has developed into a harmonious and complex dram. Van Wees has carefully selected this bottling and filled it at natural strength of 46% ABV. The nose reveals an elegant bouquet with floral notes and subtle peat, complemented by citrus fruitiness and bakery-like aromas of brioche and buttered toast. The palate is creamy and smooth, with warm toffee, dark chocolate, and a whisper of smoke mingling with tobacco. Honey and spice provide depth, while the finish lingers pleasantly with pepper and delicate fruit notes.
