About
Glen Elgin stands as a refined Speyside classic, celebrated for its clean and approachable character. This 2009 release, bottled at cask strength by 3W at 11 years old, showcases the distillery at its finest: a natural, unpretentious whisky with genuine maturity despite its relative youth. The refill bourbon cask has allowed Glen Elgin's core character to shine through beautifully. The nose reveals ripe apples, quinces, and sweet citrus, complemented by polished oak and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it's robust and intense with a pleasant interplay of malted biscuits, dry leather, and pepper. An oily texture adds weight and mouthfeel, while the oak provides a refined, lacquered finish. A whisky for those who appreciate balance and finesse over heavy peat or sherry.
