About
Chichibu's 7EVEN Gods of Fortune Series honours Japanese deities of fortune through distinctive single malt expressions. This 2016 bottling matured in a second-fill bourbon cask with lightly peated character, delivering a complex and refined whisky at an impressive 64.5% ABV. The marriage of Japanese distilling excellence and American oak influence creates a whisky that bridges tradition and innovation. The nose reveals bright, fruity character with tropical hints and subtle yoghurt notes that evolve gracefully with aeration. On the palate, a creamy, almost buttery mouthfeel unfolds, enriched with vanilla, manuka honey, and whispers of white pepper complementing pronounced tropical pineapple notes. The finish delivers waves of candied fruit—pineapple, dates, and papaya—interwoven with cayenne spice, creating a long, complex and memorable conclusion.
