About
Ledaig is the smoky alter ego of the Tobermory distillery on the rugged Isle of Mull, renowned for its bold, peaty character infused with maritime influence. This 2009 ChWh bottling represents a full expression of the distillery's signature style—a cask strength release at 55.5% ABV, matured for 12 years in refill hogsheads. Bottled in September 2021, this hand-filled exclusive captures the essence of the Scottish Hebrides. The nose reveals prominent smoke and peat alongside peppery spice and briny notes. The palate delivers intense peaty character with medicinal undertones, dry cereal notes, and a peppery bite. The finish is long and warming, with lingering smoke and spice. This is a whisky for those who appreciate uncompromising, traditional island character with no chill filtration to soften its edges.
