About
Cambus was a respected Scottish grain distillery in the Lowlands that closed in 1993. This 30-year-old release from 1989, bottled by Alambic Classique, showcases the refined character for which Cambus was renowned among blenders. At 61.1% ABV, this whisky delivers full strength and remarkable complexity. The nose reveals classic sherried fruits atop lacquered wood and cinnamon, complemented by subtle honey and caramel notes. On the palate, vanilla and toffee emerge, followed by a warm, peppery spice character from oak and white pepper. Burnt sugar and creamy fruit jam add depth and texture. The finish is long and warming, with lingering spice and malt sweetness that fades gracefully.
