Paradise Funk
About
Brothers Alasdair and Gordon Stevenson launched Turntable Spirits with over two decades of Scotch whisky industry experience between them. Paradise Funk marries their love of music and whisky — the name nods to a rock classic and captures the funky, playful character of this blend. It sits in their Core Range, crafted in small batches to ensure quality. The recipe draws from six distinct malts and grain whiskies: Knockdhu and North British matured in virgin oak, Benrinnes in Chinkapin cask, Invergordon in ex-Cognac, Blair Athol in Bourbon, and a mystery Speyside malt also in virgin oak. This composition yields a blend with 71% malt content, delivering a full body and creamy mouthfeel that belies its 46% ABV. Paradise Funk unfolds as an exotic yet composed whisky. Caramelised pineapple leads, trailed by smooth vanilla and sweet toffee, with hints of cedarwood and cinnamon in support. The finish lingers pleasantly, tropical fruit notes fading in a gentle arc. This is a whisky equally at home sipped in sunshine or poured for friends — approachable, flavourful, and unafraid of its own character.
