About
Ledaig 1998 DL is a classic single malt from the distillery on the Isle of Mull, bottled by the renowned independent bottler Douglas Laing. This 18-year-old whisky's characteristic blend of peaty and maritime notes is perfectly complemented by the rich influence of refill sherry butt maturation. The result is a complex, multi-layered dram that balances strength with elegance. The nose reveals warm, sooty smoke with prominent tobacco and leather notes, underpinned by brown sugar and gentle medicinal hints. On the palate, peachy fruit emerges alongside dried apricot and vanilla custard, interwoven with mineral peat and subtle iodine-like character. The texture is smooth and silky, with a pleasant light alcohol warmth. The finish is malty and honeyed, offering satisfying length and complexity.
