Glenury Royal is a legendary closed Highland distillery established in 1825, and this rare 1973 bottling by Blackadder represents a time capsule of classic Scotch whisky craftsmanship. Aged 30 years in American oak, it delivers a sophisticated and complex expression that showcases the distillery's hallmark character. The nose presents a delightful array of tropical fruits—pineapple, mango, and apricot—alongside floral blossom water, mint, and subtle pinewood smoke. The palate extends these fruity notes with minerality and acacia honey, complemented by citrus zests and a touch of metallic refinement. The finish is elegant and drying, with lingering oak and a whisper of spice, making this a very good and highly drinkable mature single malt.
