About
Compass Box was founded in 2000 with a clear mission: to make the world of Scotch whisky a more interesting place. Orchard House, the flagship of their Signature Range, embodies this ambition. It brings together some of Scotland's most expressive single malts – Caol Ila, Clynelish, and Talisker – to create a whisky that bursts with fruit and clarity. The blend is deliberate: Caol Ila contributes its characteristic smokiness, Clynelish adds soft, oily texture, and Talisker provides peppery backbone. Matured in American and French oak with a sherry finish, the result is a whisky that impresses through directness and balance rather than complexity. In the glass, Orchard House unfolds as a fruity, bright dram. The nose breathes apple, citrus, and tropical notes with a subtle woody undertone. On the palate, soft vanilla, caramel, and pepper follow – no harshness, no alcohol burn. The finish stays clean and uplifting, with citrus and fresh fruit slowly fading away. This is a whisky for those who want to understand Scotch without feeling overwhelmed – approachable, but not shallow.
