About
Tamdhu's oldest whisky in its core collection is a mature, assured single malt exclusively matured in Oloroso sherry casks of both American and European oak. This 21-year-old expression represents a pinnacle for the distillery, which distinguishes itself by using only sherry casks for maturation. The result is a deep bronze-coloured whisky with a distinctly complex and full character. The nose opens with plump raisins, fresh figs, and red berries, complemented by orange peel, tobacco leaves, and walnut skins. On the palate, a rich and vibrant experience unfolds, with baking spices, caramelized pecans, milk chocolate, and herbal honey, underpinned by vanilla and black pepper. The finish is medium to long, delivering dark chocolate, brown sugar, and warming oak spice. This whisky strikes an excellent balance between European oak spice and American oak roundness, offering impressive depth and sophistication without excessive pricing.
