1958 64 Year Old Single Malt

Japanese Mizunara

About

Shirakawa 1958 is a legendary Japanese single malt from a lost distillery—a unique piece of whisky history. This exceptionally rare 64-year-old was distilled in 1958 in Fukushima Prefecture, north of Tokyo, and represents the earliest known single-vintage Japanese whisky ever bottled. With only 1,500 bottles worldwide, this is an unrepeatable collectible. On the nose, this whisky reveals its exotic character with aromatic notes of resinous incense, dried citrus peels, and a hint of wax. The palate opens delicately with black pepper, cocoa powder, and gentle smoke—despite unpeated barley, a subtle smoky character lingers. A touch of water brings fruit notes forward and dials back the spice. The finish closes with a hint of mint, giving this exceptional spirit a refined, lingering conclusion.
