About

Turntable Spirits, founded by brothers Alasdair and Gordon Stevenson, proves that whisky and music belong together. Track.01 takes its name from the opening song of Biffy Clyro's 2002 debut album *Blackened Sky* — a band Alasdair attended school with and whose first concert he still remembers. The three words of the title capture their philosophy: Joy (passion for the craft), Discovery (exploring blended whisky), and Invention (bold, distinctive approach). A neat coincidence: the song reached number 46 on the Scottish charts, exactly the ABV at which this blend is bottled. The blend is carefully composed: 17% Knockdhu from Chinkapin casks contributes vanilla, 40% Linkwood from virgin oak delivers toffee and fruitiness, 24% Girvan from ex-red wine casks adds summer red berries, and 19% Strathclyde from ex-cognac casks brings a pineapple edge. This is blended whisky with complete transparency — you know exactly what you're drinking. On the nose, Track.01 opens with vanilla, butterscotch, and fudge, but a bright, fruity layer takes centre stage: tinned pineapple, raspberries, citrus — the wood influence present but never dominating. The palate is smooth, with dried fruit and tropical notes threading through toffee warmth. This isn't a heavy, complex blend; it's one that invites you to rethink what blended Scotch can be.
