Williamson 14 Year Old 2010 The Roots is an exceptional Islay single malt from the legendary Laphroaig Distillery, honouring Elizabeth 'Bessie' Williamson who managed the distillery from 1954 to 1972. This rare bottling was secured by The Roots and released through Buds & Barrels, with only a limited number of bottles produced. On the nose, this whisky reveals a beautiful layer of peat smoke alongside vanilla, biscuit notes, and hints of seaweed and citrus. The palate shows intense, nutty character with roasted malt and buttery sweetness, while smoke remains prominent throughout. The finish is long, smoky and gently sweet—a sophisticated conclusion to this deeply satisfying dram.
