Mac-Talla PX is a rich and opulent expression of Islay single malt, drawing on the Morrison family's generations-long heritage with the island. The name 'Mac-Talla' means 'echo' in Scottish Gaelic, reflecting this deep connection. Matured in a combination of first fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butts and refill hogsheads, this release delivers depth and complexity that showcases the distinctive character of Islay spirit. The nose reveals dark dried fruits—sultanas and Medjool dates—complemented by warm toffee and treacle notes. The palate is thick and oily, with intense layers of raisins and dried fruits, anchored by a coastal brine and gentle peat smoke. Notes of cinnamon and spice emerge, creating a deliciously complex balance. The finish lingers with warming spice and the persistent sweetness of PX maturation, bringing together fruity, jammy character with the unmistakable Islay peat. Bottled at a robust 52.8% ABV, Mac-Talla PX represents the range at its most indulgent and flavour-forward.
