Mars Komagatake is a refined Japanese single malt distilled in the Japanese Alps at the Komagatake distillery, then matured on the subtropical island of Yakushima. This 7-year-old expression showcases the profound influence of its unique ageing location, where warmth and humidity accelerate maturation and create distinctive character. The result is a crystalline, minimalist spirit with unmistakably Japanese sensibilities. The nose reveals bright citrus notes of lemon and lime alongside tarte tatin, fresh barley, and vanilla, with subtle eucalyptus, grass, and an almost medicinal juniper quality lending minerality. On the palate, pineapple, green apples, and yuzu emerge, transitioning gracefully into peppermint and ginger biscuits with a delicate metallic edge and developing vanilla creaminess.
