GlenAllachie 35 Year Old 1990 Vintage
About
The GlenAllachie 35 Year Old is an exceptional Speyside single malt that exemplifies the art of extended maturation and masterful cask selection. Distilled in 1990 and bottled at cask strength, this rare release unites four cask types with Japanese Mizunara oak at its heart. Master blender Billy Walker has carefully orchestrated this complex spirit, drawing on decades of experience to balance the delicate, exotic characteristics of Mizunara with the richer sweetness of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The nose reveals layers of mocha, crystallised cinnamon, and treacle, followed by cocoa, toasted hazelnuts, and hints of pineapple and honey. The palate is rich and multifaceted, delivering chocolate, baking spices, coconut, orchard fruits, and a whisper of sandalwood. The finish is long and warming, with lingering sweetness balanced by gentle spice and soft oak. This is a whisky for the serious enthusiast—a testament to patience, sensory instinct, and the transformative power of time.
