Year of the Horse 2026
About
Tomatin honours the Year of the Horse with this single cask from 2011, bottled to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2026. A rare release that bridges two traditions: Chinese New Year culture and Highland whisky craft. Matured exclusively in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butt—a large Spanish cask from Jerez—this whisky captures the full intensity and richness of PX sherry. Bottled at cask strength (56.5% ABV) and non-chill-filtered, it speaks without compromise. The nose opens with orange peel, dried cranberries and honeycomb, touched by candy floss. The palate layers candied almonds, toffee apples, sultanas and salted liquorice—a complex weave of fruit, sweetness and salt. The finish is long and structured, with sustained warmth.
