Orchard House
About
Orchard House was created through a partnership between Compass Box and Juveniles Bistrot in Paris. Tim, the bistro's owner, asked founder John Glaser to craft a soft, unpeaty whisky aged between 12 and 15 years. The result reflects both partners' shared commitment to authenticity and quality. The blend draws from some of Scotland's most expressive fruit-forward single malts, including Benrinnes, Linkwood, Clynelish, and Aberlour. Maturation in ex-bourbon casks, Oloroso-seasoned butts, and heavily toasted French oak has created a spirit-driven profile that avoids heavy smoke while maintaining complexity. On the nose, bright orchard fruit—apple and pear—leads, followed by hints of pineapple, lemon, and lime. The palate reveals vanilla pods and a subtle toasted edge, while the finish lingers with notes of orchard fruit, vanilla, and citrus. This is an approachable, well-balanced whisky that prioritizes clarity of spirit and fresh fruit character.
