Sherry Cask Finish

McConnell's carries genuine historical weight in Irish whisky. Founded in 1776 by Belfast grocer Hugh McConnell, the brand was transformed into a global name by his wife Eleanor—a remarkable achievement when women were barred from public bars. After decades of silence, McConnell's has been revived by Belfast Distillery Company, committed to restoring this storied legacy.

This five-year-old is a blended Irish whisky: 40% malt and 60% grain, aged in first-fill bourbon barrels, then finished in Oloroso sherry casks. That finishing step delivers the whisky's distinctive character—dried figs and raisins on the nose, Christmas spices (nutmeg, cinnamon), pure chocolate, and a whisper of leather.
