Currach takes its name from a traditional Irish boat made of wicker and animal hides, used since Neolithic times. Origin Spirits merges this heritage with modern whiskycraft: a triple-distilled single malt matured in bourbon casks, then finished in virgin oak vessels where Atlantic kombu seaweed has been charred.

The cask treatment is central to this expression. Seaweed harvested from the Atlantic in County Clare was dried and set alight inside unused oak casks, creating an unconventional finish that layers umami and salt-driven characters onto the typical sweetness of Irish whiskey.
