Pure Malt Sherry Cask Limited Edition
About
Tenjaku Pure Malt Sherry Cask is a limited edition crafted by master blender Kenji Watanabe at Minami, situated at the foot of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi. This is not a standard blend — it marries malt whiskies aged 3, 5, 8, and 12 years, then finished in Oloroso sherry casks for at least six months. That layering of ages gives the blend more complexity than you'd expect from a young release. The nose opens with ripe fruit and citrus, supported by honey and vanilla from both maturation and the sherry finish. On the palate it feels soft — fresh fruit and honey remain central, with a malty backbone that doesn't hide the youth of some components. The finish is warm and brief, vanilla and honey fading gradually. This is a well-crafted whisky without pretension. It balances the brightness of young malt with the richness sherry adds, without tipping into either extreme. A solid entry point for those exploring Japanese whisky.

Japanese creation by master blender Kenji Watanabe. Malty, sweet and you taste fruit. The extra maturation of at least six months in Oloroso sherry casks makes this whisky special.
