About
Chichibu Ichiro's Double Distilleries is a Japanese malt whisky crafted from a unique blend of two renowned distilleries. This expression is part of the Ichiro's Malt series, named after Ichiro Akuto, the grandson of the founder of the Hanyu distillery. Following the closure of Hanyu in 2004, Ichiro acquired approximately 400 casks, and in 2008, he established his own distillery, Chichibu. On the nose, this whisky offers a delightful bouquet of fresh fruit, vanilla, and a hint of oak, complemented by a sugary sweetness. The palate reveals a robust maltiness, with layers of oak, peppery spice, and dried herbs. The finish is warm and inviting, featuring a gentle touch of ginger, making it an intriguing sipping experience. Chichibu Ichiro's Double Distilleries has garnered recognition for its quality, reflecting the distillery's commitment to craftsmanship and innovation in Japanese whisky production.
