Elsburn Harz 4 is a distinctive single malt whisky produced by the Hammerschmiede distillery, located in the picturesque Harz Mountains of Germany. With an ABV of 46.00%, this whisky represents the fourth installment in a unique series known as The Friendship Edition, showcasing the craftsmanship and passion behind German whisky production. This expression is matured in a combination of a 250-litre sherry hogshead and a 200-litre first-fill ex-bourbon barrel, selected by Pat Hock and Anna Buchholz, the Mistress of Distilling. The result is a well-balanced whisky with rich notes of dried fruits, vanilla, and a hint of spice, complemented by a smooth finish that lingers pleasantly on the palate. Each sip reveals the depth and complexity that comes from its careful maturation in these exceptional casks.
