Loch Gorm is a rich and refined single malt from Kilchoman, the first distillery built on Islay in over a century. This whisky's character is entirely shaped by maturation in sherry casks, resulting in a deep, complex dram that balances Islay's signature peatiness with the richness of sherried fruit. The farm distillery has established a reputation with this expression, which delivers refined depth without overpowering intensity. The nose reveals honeyed sweetness, roasted figs, and bold smoke, with notes of toffee and grilled bananas. The palate follows with dark dried fruits—cherries and raisins—alongside dark chocolate and a silky mouthfeel. The finish is long and lingering, with earthy peat, savoury umami undertones, and a smouldering smoke trail that pleasantly persists on the palate.
