Millstone - Oloroso Cask, 2008, is an exquisite single malt whisky from the Zuidam Distillery, one of the last independent distilleries in the Netherlands. Known for its traditional production methods, this family-run distillery has been crafting whisky since 1997. This particular bottling was aged for six years in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled in April 2008, with only 924 bottles released. On the nose, this whisky presents rich aromas of dried fruits and sherry, accompanied by a hint of citrus, mainly orange. The palate is full and complex, featuring notes of honey, toffee, and a light woody undertone. It is complemented by a subtle spiciness and a luxurious sherry influence, giving this whisky a refined and harmonious character. Best enjoyed neat, this whisky also pairs well with rich desserts or cheeses to enhance the tasting experience.
