Teerenpeli Kaski is a Swedish single malt whisky produced by the Teerenpeli distillery, established in 2002. This distillery prides itself on using local ingredients, including Finnish malt from a nearby malt house and fresh groundwater from Salpausselkä, combined with traditional production methods and Scottish pot still equipment. Kaski presents a unique character, influenced by the traditional agricultural practice of swidden farming, where crops are burned before tilling the land. The whisky offers a rich profile with notes of toasted oak, vanilla, and subtle spices, complemented by a smooth mouthfeel. With an ABV of 43%, it is matured in carefully selected casks that enhance its distinct flavor. Although relatively new, Teerenpeli has begun to gain recognition in the whisky world, showcasing a commitment to quality and craftsmanship that promises to evolve with time.
