About
Compass Box was founded in 2000 with a mission to make Scotch whisky more interesting, and Affinity proves the point. This is not a traditional Scotch—it's a bold alliance: 62% Scotch whisky (chiefly Craigellachie and Highland bases) blended with 38% Calvados, apple brandy from Normandy's Domaine Christian Drouin. The result is a spirit drink that marries French and Scottish traditions in a way that had not been attempted before. The nose reveals the partnership immediately: honey, vanilla, and orange, with subtle notes of baked apple and heather. The palate brings the full complexity—fruit, spice, dark chocolate, and a tart, zesty edge that betrays the Calvados. The finish is smooth and rounded, with lingering honey and baking spices. Affinity doesn't ask for caution or tradition, but for curiosity. This is a dram for those willing to cross borders.
