Galley Head Irish Single malt
About
Galley Head takes its name from the lighthouse of the same name, which stands watch over the Atlantic Ocean and the grain fields surrounding Clonakilty in West Cork. Founded by Michael Scully, the distillery created this single malt as a tribute to the wild coastline of southwest Ireland. Matured in a carefully selected mix of ex-bourbon, port, sherry, cognac and rum casks, this whisky is finished in re-toasted wine and Bordeaux casks. Clonakilty sources casks globally and experiments with stout and IPA finishes across its range. Galley Head opens with aromas of cocoa, rich orchard fruits and apple crumble. The palate delivers dark chocolate, red berries and licorice, balanced with honey and vanilla notes. The finish is soft and fruity, with gentle oak spice and a touch of citrus.
