The Haig family dominated late 19th-century Scotch whisky, building an empire that endures today. Dimple arrived in 1893—named for the distinctive bulge of its bottle—embodying that legacy. John Haig had founded his distillery in 1824; Cameron Bridge would later become Scotland's first grain distillery. This 15 Years Old assembles malts from respected houses such as Glenkinchie and Linkwood, classic Lowland and Speyside producers.
The blend favours light, fruity character. The nose leads with butter and citrus, supported by malty undertones. The palate brings plums and honeyed sweetness, with hints of Earl Grey tea and light tannins. The finish remains modest—shorter than its age might suggest—with lingering notes of honey, pepper and wood. This is easy-drinking whisky, uncomplicated, elegant through simplicity rather than depth.
