Mortlach 34 Year Old 1989 – Murray McDavid's AFICIONADO Collection

Murray McDavid has unveiled AFICIONADO, a new collection of rare vintage single malts curated from Scotland's most revered distilleries. The Mortlach 34 Year Old from 1989 is among the inaugural releases, embodying the independent bottler's commitment to exceptional maturation and quality since 1994.

This Speyside whisky has matured for over three decades and is bottled in small batches at natural colour without chill filtration. This approach preserves the authentic character and complexity of the spirit, essential for whiskies of this age and rarity.

On the nose, fresh fruit, citrus, vanilla, and honey emerge with subtle tobacco notes. The palate reveals fresh fruit and caramel, complemented by honey, peppery spice, and sherried undertones. The finish is long and evolving, with fresh fruit, peppery character, and lingering sherried notes that fade gracefully.

This release appeals to serious collectors and enthusiasts who value authenticity and the art of long-term maturation in whisky.
