Decadent Drinks presents a captivating Mortlach from 2005, bottled as part of their acclaimed 'Decadent Drams' series. This Speyside single malt exemplifies the distillery's distinctive character, offering a beautifully balanced expression that appeals to whisky enthusiasts seeking complexity and refinement.

Aged 20 years and matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, this release is bottled at 50.1% ABV with only 179 bottles produced. The bourbon cask influence has preserved Mortlach's naturally waxy texture while imparting subtle vanilla and citrus complexity. The nose delivers a full, waxy character with candles and sunflower oil, transitioning to yellow apples, melon, lemon oil and subtle vanilla. On the palate, the same textured, waxy profile emerges with lemon curd, vegetal oils, melon and bread dough, developing herbaceous and mineral notes. The finish is medium to long, showcasing bittersweet green fruits, malty notes and fine herbs.
