Kentucky Senator Bourbon announces the Jim Bunning Release, a limited edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon honoring legendary baseball Hall of Famer and U.S. Senator Jim Bunning. This is the second release in a vertical series, allowing collectors to experience how the same bourbon develops with an additional year of aging. Produced by Bardstown Bourbon Company, this release commemorates Bunning, the only Major League Baseball player elected to both the Baseball Hall of Fame and the United States Senate.

Bottled at 107 proof (53.5% ABV), this 8.5-year-old bourbon features a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. Approximately 4,000 bottles will be released at a suggested retail price of $119.99. The bourbon is distilled and aged in Kentucky before being bottled at Bardstown Bourbon Company.

On the nose, this bourbon reveals caramel, oak, and peppery notes. The palate follows with the same characteristics complemented by dried spices, while the finish is warm and lingering with caramel, oak, and pepper.

This release is particularly noteworthy for collectors tracking bourbon's evolution through the vertical series. Jim Bunning made a significant contribution to the bourbon industry by introducing Senate Resolution 294, which designated September as National Bourbon Heritage Month and established bourbon's official designation as "America's Native Spirit."
