Invergordon 50 Year Old 1974: A Rare Highland Grain

Invergordon has released an exceptional bottling: the 50 Year Old 1974 Single Grain Scotch whisky. This rare expression was distilled in November 1974 and is now available after five decades of maturation. Bottled by Ardent Spirits in November 2025, it represents a significant milestone from Invergordon Distillery, one of Scotland's most respected grain producers.

Matured exclusively in first fill bourbon barrels, this whisky showcases the complexity that grain spirits can achieve with extended aging. Bottled at 43% ABV without chill filtration or added colour, it retains its natural character in 500ml bottles.

On the nose, fresh fruit and citrus emerge alongside vanilla, with subtle notes of coconut, almond, and hazelnut. The palate delivers rich vanilla, caramel, and toffee, balanced by oak and gentle peppery spices. The finish is smooth and elegant, with lingering citrus, caramel, toffee, and oak notes.

This is a release for serious collectors and grain whisky enthusiasts seeking maturity, complexity, and authenticity.
