Buffalo Trace Distillery unveils Single Oak Rye Bourbon, a landmark release from their legendary Single Oak Project dating back to 1999. This 8-year-old, 90-proof bourbon is based on the consumer-selected Barrel #80, chosen from 192 unique experimental barrels. This milestone release finally allows whisky enthusiasts to experience the culmination of one of the bourbon industry's most comprehensive maturation studies ever conducted.

The whisky was aged in new American oak with level 4 char, sourced from the bottom half of hand-selected oak trees. The barrels featured average grain size and 12-month air-dried staves. Barrel #80 emerged after meticulous analysis of seven variables, including mashbill, entry proof, aging location, and barrel construction, making it a scientifically significant expression.

On the nose, expect vanilla, caramel, and oak characteristics. The palate reveals vanilla, toffee, honey, oak, and peppery notes that develop beautifully. The finish lingers with oak and peppery spice.
