Buffalo Trace has achieved a historic milestone with the Eagle Rare 30 Year Old, their oldest bourbon ever produced. This exclusive release, developed in partnership with auction house Bonhams, marks a significant moment in American bourbon history. With only a handful of bottles available—including the first and second ever produced—this is a rare collector's treasure.
The bourbon matured for 30 years in the experimental Warehouse P under controlled conditions, an innovative approach that slows the aging process. Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley emphasizes that this release represents singular quality developed over three decades. The extended maturation in oak has created a complex flavor profile that remains beautifully balanced, with bottles expected to fetch between €9,000 and €13,000.
On the nose, dried fruit, caramel, toffee, honey, and tobacco emerge. The palate reveals vanilla, caramel, toffee, and honey with peppery notes and dried spices. The finish lingers with caramel, toffee, and oak. This Eagle Rare 30 Year Old is unmistakably crafted for serious whisky enthusiasts and collectors seeking to experience the pinnacle of bourbon maturation.
