Lagmore 2015 10 Year Old: A Promise from Ballindalloch

Ballindalloch is a small Speyside distillery with limited production, making official releases rare and expensive. The Caskhound from Germany now brings this 10-year-old Lagmore to market—a blended malt with a touch of Mannochmore added. Though technically not a single malt, this release offers a fascinating glimpse into the characterful spirit of Ballindalloch.

Matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel, this whisky presents itself at 57.1% ABV without chill-filtration. The rich bourbon cask influence is evident, with notes of citrus, spice, and red fruits playing across the nose. On the palate, the whisky shows pleasant oiliness, though the taste is initially spice-forward with clove, barley husks, and subtle white chocolate.

The nose opens with citrus aromas, flowers, and fruit notes such as plums and gooseberries. The palate follows with vanilla, hazelnut, and red apple, while the finish is medium-length with lingering pepper, sugary sweetness, and orchard fruit.
