Ardbeg Seasmoke 50.8%

Ardbeg has pushed boundaries once again with Seasmoke, an experimental single malt whisky crafted using pure seawater from the Islay coast during mashing. This bold innovation marks a first for the distillery and promises a distinctive maritime character that sets it apart from traditional Islay whiskies.

Bottled at 50.8% ABV, Seasmoke is created using seawater drawn directly from the distillery's coastal location. The unconventional approach translates directly into the whisky's flavor profile. On the nose, expect smoked citrus and briny sea air, evolving into fennel and heather notes. On the palate, the maritime character shines through distinctly: subtle salinity flows into smoky espresso, cashew notes, and smoldering campfire tones. The finish is long and intensely smoky—quintessentially Ardbeg.

This release is unquestionably not for the faint-hearted. With pronounced smoky, salty, and tarry notes, Seasmoke appeals primarily to dedicated Ardbeg enthusiasts willing to explore unconventional territory. This ambitious experiment demonstrates the distillery's commitment to innovation and its willingness to challenge whisky conventions.
