Yamazaki

Yamazaki Distillery, located in the Osaka region of Japan, was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, the founder of Suntory. It holds the distinction of being Japan's first malt whisky distillery. Over the years, it has remained under the ownership of Suntory, continuing to uphold traditional Japanese whisky-making techniques while embracing innovation. With an annual production capacity of approximately 6,000,000 liters, Yamazaki utilizes multiple stills to produce its whisky, emphasizing a blend of both malt and grain spirits. The character of Yamazaki whisky is marked by a harmonious profile of fruitiness, sweetness, and subtle spice, complemented by oak and citrus notes. Notable expressions include the Yamazaki 12-Year-Old and the 25-Year-Old, both showcasing the depth and complexity that the distillery consistently delivers. Visitors to the distillery can explore the rich history of Japanese whisky through guided tours, tastings, and a dedicated visitor center.
