Town's Mill was located in the Lowland region of Scotland and was founded in 1825 by James Philips. Despite its brief existence, lasting only until 1830, the distillery contributed to the early development of whisky production in the area. The distillery was situated near a mill, leveraging the local water source for its operations. Its closure was attributed to the difficulties of the whisky market during that period, which ultimately led to its downfall.
