Tamdhu

Tamdhu distillery is located in the heart of the Highland region of Scotland, having been founded in 1896. The distillery was established by a group of local businessmen and has gone through various ownerships over the years, currently being owned by Ian MacLeod Distillers. Tamdhu is known for its rich history and commitment to producing high-quality single malt whisky. With an annual production capacity of 2,500,000 liters, Tamdhu utilizes a mashtun that can handle up to 11 tons of malt. The distillery's whisky is characterized by a unique flavor profile that includes sugary notes, dried spices, almonds, and sherried influences, along with fresh fruit and a malty backbone. The whisky often exhibits hints of plastic and oak, contributing to its complex character. Notable expressions include Tamdhu's Distinction, the 14-year-old Ámbar, and various batch strength releases, all of which showcase the craftsmanship and dedication embedded in Tamdhu's production processes.
