GlenWyvis Distillery is situated in the Highland region of Scotland and was founded in 2017 by John Mckenzie, who serves as the managing director. This distillery is notable for being a revival of whisky production in the area after the previous distillery closed in 1926. GlenWyvis operates under a unique lease agreement for the land, held for 175 years at a nominal fee, reflecting a commitment to the local community and heritage. The distillery boasts an annual production capacity of 140,000 litres, utilizing modern equipment and eco-friendly energy sources, including solar panels, hydroelectric power, biomass boilers, and wind turbines. The whisky produced here exhibits a character marked by fruity notes, showcasing aromas of grape and sweet undertones. On the palate, the spirit reveals flavors of pear, oak, and malt, leading to a sweet and herbaceous finish with hints of chocolate and dark chocolate.
